CARMEL, Ind. (Dec. 9, 2020) – To celebrate the season of giving, Carmel-based ISOtunes is donating 225 pairs of its certified hearing protection headphones to three Indiana colleges and the trade programs each school supports. The donation, which is retail valued at nearly $15,000, will provide vital hearing protection to students who are in loud working environments.

Students enrolled in specific trade programs at Indianapolis Ivy Tech Community College, Fortis College and Lincoln College of Technology will all be receiving a donated pair of ISOtunes headphones, including ISOtunes PRO and ISOtunes XTRA.
“As a locally-owned and family-run company, we couldn’t think of a better way to give back to our community than providing essential safety products to our future trade professionals,” said Eric Murphy, co-founder of ISOtunes. “Safety is our number one priority, and unfortunately, proper hearing protection often falls to the wayside for those who work in loud environments. By giving these students the proper education and tools they need in order to work safely, we are preparing them as the next generation of Hoosier tradespeople.”
Students at Lincoln College of Technology will receive 100 pairs of headphones for its Welding Technology program, the loudest environment trade program. Students in this program receive hands-on training in a variety of welding procedures. Ivy Tech Community College will receive 75 pairs of headphones for its Building Trade JATC Apprenticeship program, which trains students in a variety of different trades including carpentry, ironworking and sheet metalworking. Additionally, Fortis College will receive 50 pairs of headphones for its HVACR program, which trains students on all things heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration.
“We are always looking for ways to work and partner with local companies within the industry to better connect our students, so we were grateful when ISOtunes came to us about this donation,” said Teresa Hess, executive director of apprenticeships at Ivy Tech Community College. “Not only is providing proper safety equipment to our students a priority, but it can also be expensive. We are extremely thankful for this thoughtful gift.”
