Aware Technology™uses omni-directional microphones to give you the ability to hear naturally, but blocks loud impulse noises. For example - when a nail gun is used Aware Technology™senses the loud sound in 2 milliseconds, lowers the volume to a safe level, and then returns to normal awareness levels. Aware Technology™ improves your situational awareness and safety by:
1. Amplifying the sounds around you that you want to hear.
2. Blocking the noises around you that you don’t want to hear.
Aware Technology™ uses microphones to pick up outside sounds and amplifies them through your hearing protector, similar to a hearing aid or enhancer. Aware volume buttons allow you to choose your preferred amplification level. This means you can wear hearing protection and still hear the world and those around you at a comfortable listening level.
When outside noise breaches a safe listening level of 85dB, Aware Technology™ purposefully shuts off to block this noise passively, similar to a standard hearing protector. When your environmental noise returns to a safe listening level, Aware Technology™ will turn back on to continue amplifying the sounds around you.
This makes Aware Technology™ great for those who work in sporadically loud environments. Noises like nail guns and hammers will be blocked by Aware Technology™, while safe environmental sounds will be amplified. In consistently loud environments, like when working with lawn mowers or sanders, Aware Technology™ will block all sound until the outside noise falls below 85dB. In these cases, we recommend turning Aware Technology™ completely off until you’re done working in that environment.
How does it work?
